VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
ABOUT
The Carolina Mustangs volleyball program was started in 2015, with the intention of filling two small teams, but the season started with enough girls to fill Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams.
The Mustangs volleyball program is a highly competitive program for MS-Varsity girls. The season runs from August through October with an average of 20-23 games for the varsity team. The practices average about two - three times per week. We compete against charter schools, private schools, Christian schools, homeschool teams, and some public schools as well that are within a 45-50 mile radius of Durham, NC.
The 2017 Varsity team was loaded with talented girls. We had a huge mix of experienced girls returning from last year, and then girls who were just learning the sport of volleyball. The growth and fight that we saw in the girls over the last month of the season illustrated the heart of the Carolina Mustangs. It was amazing to travel to games, and have officials, opposing coaches, players, and fans compliment our girls and the Mustangs program.
This year's team was led by three seniors. It was great to watch them rise to the challenge of leading the team in intense games, and being filled with the passion of playing volleyball.
Everywhere the Mustangs went this season, they left behind a positive and strong impression. There are definitely great things to come for the Carolina Mustangs in the future!
