VOLLEYBALL

Sarah Clayton

Title: Head Coach JV and Varsity; Program Coaching Coordinator, Scheduling Coordinator

 

Sarah started coaching volleyball 13 years ago with homeschool volleyball.  During the last 13 years, she has coached Middle School , Junior Varsity, and Varsity level volleyball She has  led several  highschool JV teams to conference championships, and led a first year varsity team in the 2014 season to a third place finish at the NCHEAC State Tournament. Additionally, Sarah was named NCHEAC-East Coach of the Year for the 2014 season.

 

She has also coached Parks and Recreation teams, and has coached club volleyball teams at the 12s, 14s, and 18s divisions.  During her first season  of club volleyball with Caswell Volleyball Club, the 14 U team that she coached won first place for the Regional Championships in the Carolina Region division. 

 

During the Carolina Region Volleyball season, she is the Club Director for North Durham Volleyball Club, and also helped coach the 18s team for the 2018 season.  

 

She is actively involved with her family, and has had several children who have participated with the Carolina Mustangs Athletics program, and local club volleyball programs.

Joe Yandle

Title: Middle School/Junior Varsity/Varsity Girls Coach

 

Joe joined the Mustangs coaching staff in its inaugural basketball season, as the Junior Varsity/Varsity girls head coach. He also serves as an head coach for the Middle School girls. 

 

Joe started playing basketball in Kindergarten at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and played 13 season in the Durham Youth Church League. His coaching experience began in college, coaching at the Salvation Army. In his second season with the Salvation Army, he guided his boys team to the league championship, was named Co-Head Coach for the Raleigh All-Star Team, and helped lead the Raleigh All-Stars to finish 2nd in the state. Before joining the Mustangs, he served as an assistant coach for 2 seasons with another homeschool organization.

 

Coach Yandle graduated from North Carolina State University in 2009, with a BA in Religious Studies, and a Minor in Coaching Education. In 2012, he received a Master's degree in Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He serves as the Children's Pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

It doesn't matter if you win as long as you give everything in your heart.
