VARSITY GIRLS

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

– Philippians 3:14

ABOUT

The Mustangs Varsity Girls Basketball program started in 2015 with 8 girls who had a desire to play fun and competitive basketball.

The Mustangs provide a highly competitive sports experience for girls ages 14-18. The season runs from November thru March, and practices are held 2-3 times a week. We travel to compete against homeschool teams, public, private, and charter schools within a 1 hour radius of North Durham.

In their first three seasons of competition, the Mustangs have amassed a 40-24 record. Each year the team travels to compete in the East Coast Homeschool Championships. The Mustangs have a strong record at the Homeschool Championship; they have finishes of 7th in the Championship Bracket (2016), 3rd in the 3A Division (2017), 2nd in the 5A Division (2018), 1st in the 1A Division (2019), 2nd in the 2A Division (2021), and 2nd in the 4A Division (2022).

This season, the Mustangs are returning 6 players, and have added several new players to the team. The team is looking to build upon the success of previous seasons as they focus on building and maintaining a championship basketball program.
